Exit Lights

Exit Lights are critical safety appliances designed to provide clear, visible guidance to occupants during emergencies, such as power failures or fires, ensuring a rapid and safe evacuation from a building.
Function: They illuminate the word “EXIT” (often in red or green) or display standardized pictograms showing a running person.
Power Source: They are typically connected to the main electrical system but include a backup battery or emergency power pack that automatically activates when the primary power fails, guaranteeing illumination for a minimum required duration (usually 90 minutes).
Purpose: Required by building codes in commercial, public, and multi-family residential structures, their primary role is to mark every escape route and final exit, saving lives by preventing confusion and panic during a crisis.
